Family law

Domestic violence cases are an area of particular specialty in our family law program.  In fact, most of our clients are survivors of intimate partner abuse. We partner with advocates who connect you to support services while we focus on legal matters. Criminal misdemeanor defense

Centro Legal represents individuals who do not qualify for public defender representation yet can’t afford private counsel, in cases involving misdemeanor criminal charges including diversions and deferred prosecution agreements.

We recognize that our clients often have the most to lose when facing a misdemeanor charge and empower them to make informed decisions based on a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities. In many cases, we negotiate agreements in which clients address issues such as substance abuse, with successful program completion leading to charges dismissed or never even processed.

Guardian ad Litem (GAL)

Centro Legal attorneys serve as GAL in family law cases and are often appointed by the court to represent the best interests of children and minor parents in family and paternity cases.
